Demographics:

We now have three generations in the workplace simultaneously: the Babyboomers, Generation X and Generation Y. In 10 years Millennials are projected to represent approximately 75% of the workforce.

Talent Shortage:

Yes we are aware this one already exists as an issue for HR Professionals. However demographic changes mean that finding and retaining tomorrow’s talent is going to be tougher than ever. Both the US and Germany recorded talent shortage of 40% in 2014 while Japan recorded 81% (CPL )

Expectations:

Millennials crave meaning and significance as part of their work experience, they are less interested in money and career and more interested in creativity, freedom, professional development and rapid advancement.

The employee is now looking at work as an experience, not somewhere to go but something to do. Living Authentic Company values, always on engagement, embracing technology and ongoing learning, juggling different generational needs, health and wellness, diversity, creativity and less supervision are all challenges to be met head on and with courage.
